On a club or festival system, all of that is audible — not as "this sounds like an MP3" but as "why does this song have no energy compared to the last one." Add YouTube's loudness normalization, which means every rip lands at a different level, and your gain staging becomes guesswork. A proper pool edit starts from the master, encodes once at 320kbps, and sits at a consistent loudness with the rest of the catalog. The difference is not subtle when the room is big.

Round Two: Legality

The part nobody likes to discuss: ripping YouTube audio violates the platform's terms of service, and the underlying tracks are copyrighted works. Downloading them that way is infringement, full stop — and playing them at a paid, public event adds a commercial dimension to it.

Will you get sued over a wedding set? Realistically, no.
